About the Lakewood Country Club

The Lakewood Country Club Golf Course was designed in 1933 as a beautiful and challenging 18-hole championship course. With 7,000 yards from the back tees, the Lakewood Country Club Course is one of the longer courses in the area.

In addition to the course, golfers can find chipping greens, a practice bunker, a pro shop, and a grill/lounge for dining.

What to Wear

When picking out a top, a golf shirt is probably best. This short sleeved, collared pullover is slightly longer than your average polo, which helps it to stay tucked in after an afternoon of swinging. Button-down shirts and low-cut collars aren’t suggested golf attire.

For bottoms, a nice pair of khaki pants has become the standard, but most Bermuda-length shorts are also perfectly acceptable. What you should stay away from are jeans, gym shorts, cutoffs, and short shorts.

In terms of footwear, golf shoes are obviously the best choice, but it’s understandable that a one-time player might not want to dish out the money on a brand-new pair of golfing shoes. So a good pair of pair of sneakers should do just fine.

However, if you do plan to wear golfing shoes, keep in mind that some courses don’t allow metal-spiked shoes, so be sure to check with the country club ahead of time.

The last thing that you should make sure to wear while at the Golf & Give Back Tournament is plenty of sunscreen. Many people don’t realize just how long they’ve been out in the sun when playing golf and will get sunburned as a result.
